Car #2 E. Evans / D. Barritt (Ford Fiesta WRC): “Yeah definitely quite a loose stage and quite narrow in places as well. Not great to be the first, but to be fair I am just driving through this morning”. [co-driver: no grip there]

Car #11 C. Breen / S. Martin (Citroën C3 WRC): “OK, obviously a lot of cleaning in there. Just driving it in the middle of the road not making any mistakes. See if I can get it back”.

Car #12 M. Ostberg / T. Eriksen (Citroën C3 WRC): “Competition with Paddon? Not I do not think so, it difficult to push half-way. I did it yesterday, but you need to be very committed today,I need to get to the end and I am not willing to take the risk. It is like this, you have to really put energy in the car to load the front to have the precision you need between the rocks I did not do that. Not a team order to bring it to the end, something that we want, it is important to be at the end for the team. Half pushin Sardinia t is not nice”.

Car #6 H. Paddon / S. Marshall (Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC): “It is a good way to start. Just keep it nice and smooth, the line that is there is quite small but I’m trying to utilise it. I’m a bit cautious on this one after what happened last year so I took it easy at the start! Looking after this position for the manufacturer points”.

Car #9 E. Lappi / J. Ferm (Toyota Yaris WRC): “Holding position. Not easy to find the rhythm, but OK. Clean stage, a few surprises with the mud but luckily I did not need to push. In three of four corners suddenly you have mud and then the grip is quite bad”.

Car #5 T. Neuville / N. Gilsoul (Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC): “I do not know if that was enough. But that was a good one I promise. It will be tight. Two small mistakes in a junction, where I missed the road and I was in the loose, I might lose a bit of time, but I will give everything, it is still on”. [smiling]

Car #1 S. Ogier / J. Ingrassia (Ford Fiesta WRC): “It is a good run, it is very narrow difficult to push harder, I think I was holding a bit more on the bank near the wall, so I will have to see that in the second loop”.
